Island Settlement

Two men, Adam, Bob went for a sail. What was meant to be a short pleasure cruise turned into a fight for survival when their navigation system broke and a terrible storm stranded them on a deserted island.

The men knew that their number one priority would be to find a food source that could sustain them while they awaited rescue.

Adam set out picking up berries off the bushes around the camp. A little bitter, and in short supply, the berries would be a good start.

Bob, fashioned himself a spear from a branch and a knife from the boat. Knowing the sea would be the most plentiful supply of food they had, even if it was a more difficult task to get the food from it. He knew the rewards would be worth the effort.

After a few hours Adam had gathered all the berries on the ground. He piled them in a basket beside their camp and sat down to rest.

The sun dipped below the horizon as Bob walked up the beach with a fish in his arms.
"Let's split the food between the two of us. It's only fair." suggested Adam. He counted out 24 berries, half the number he collected and gave them to Chris. "There's half the berries, he said... in exchange for half a fish."
"Ok", Bob agreed, knowing the fish was much tastier, and healthier, but looking forward to at least a little variety in his meal.
"Perhaps tomorrow we can both go fishing, I think I am gettin the hang of it." Suggested Bob.
"No thanks," replied Adam. "We need a balanced diet, and besides, I dont know the first thing about fishing."
The next day, Bob set out bright and early to the beach to fish some more.
Adam, woke up a little past ten, when the sun was starting to make it uncomfortable to sleep.
He wandered the shoreline, looking for berries, but there were only 10 to be found.
That night the two men sat down to eat, and Bob revealed that he had caught two fish!
Adam counted out five berries and handed them to Bob. "Here you are, half of my berries", he snagged one of the fish... "for half of your fish. Split equally, it's only fair."
Bob, eyed him warily, but was too exhausted from his labors that day to argue.
"Perhaps tomorrow you can come fish with me, I can show you how. It's not easy, but I'm sure you can learn."
"No, I'm just not good at that kind of thing. Besides, I saw some bananas in a tree I am going to try to get those tomorrow."
The next morning, Bob awoke early and went off to fish.
Adam rolled out of bed and headed for the banana tree. Gosh they were high up there. Adam had never been much of the athlete, and try as he might he could not get up the tree.
Late in the afternoon, he saw Bob returning with 4 fish. "Bob" he called. "Come help me get these bananas."
So Bob went over to him. Adam gave Bob a boost, since Bob was a better climber, and he inched his way to the top, and knocked down the bunch of 10 bananas.
When the men got back to camp, Adam proceeded to dish out their portions, and gave 2 fish and 5 bananas to each. "Half of my bananas, for half of your fish."
"Wait a second..." said Bob exasperated. "I don't mind sharing, but what's this 'my bananas' business?"
"Well I found them."
"Yes but I did the work to get them."
"Oh come on, it's only fair that we split the food."
"Yes... 'fair'."
The next day it was more of the same. In the late afternoon, on his way back with 6 fish, Bob noticed Adam standing by the banana tree.
"Shall I give you a boost again?"
"Sure" Bob sighed and started to climb the tree.
When he was half way up, the tree gave way and Bob went crashing to the ground, breaking his arm.
"I'll never be able to fish in this condition!" Bob exclaimed.
Adam promptly took a rock and smashed his own leg. "It's only fair... if you can't work, then neither can I."

Socialism is not about finding a cure for cancer, it's about giving cancer to everyone to make sure we are all equal.
The WhiteHouse has way too much B.O. in it these days.
